Represent qualifications, experience, data etc. truthfully. Transparency in grading, admissions, performance evaluation.
Respect for students, colleagues, non-teaching staff, regardless of background (gender, race, religion, etc.). Impartial treatment, no favoritism or discrimination.
Respecting privacy of students’ records, research data, personnel matters. Only share confidential information when authorized or required.
Maintaining appropriate relationships between students and teachers (avoid abuses of power). Maintaining decorum inside and outside classes.
Doing one’s duties conscientiously (teaching, mentoring, supervision, administrative tasks).
Being punctual, fulfilling obligations (e.g. deadlines, class schedules). Owning up to mistakes, correcting them.
Keeping up with developments in one’s field. Engaging in research, attending seminars or professional development. Improving teaching methods, feedback incorporation.
Encouraging open discussion, free expression of ideas. But avoiding discrimination, hate speech, misuse of freedom.
Being aware of the college’s role in society. Contributing to community welfare, environmental sustainability. Upholding values and mission of the institution.
Obeying laws, regulations governing education (e.g. UGC guidelines in India). Following internal policies for discipline, anti-ragging, safety, research ethics.
